Even though spring may still be some time away, adding a touch of blooming nature as decoration can bring sunshine into your home. Flowers in glass are not only charming decorations for your house but also make wonderful gifts to take when visiting friends or family. This guide will show you how to create an impressive decoration with minimal materials and a bit of creativity—perfect for spring or summer!
Step 1: Arrange Flowers in Glass
Start by removing the handle from your glass lanterns. If the handle is difficult to remove, you can use pliers. Of course, you can also leave the handle on if you prefer.
For bulb plants like hyacinths, remove as much soil as possible from the plant. If there are too many roots, feel free to trim them. Completely wrap the bulb and roots with moss so they are well covered. Then, place the plant and moss together in the glass. If there's not enough space, gently press down and add more moss if necessary. The plant should have enough room to expand downward.
Step 2: Decorate the Glass
To attach the decorative ribbon to your glass, cut a piece that is long enough. The ribbon should slightly overlap when wrapped around the glass. Attach double-sided tape to both ends of the ribbon.
Remove the protective film from one end and stick the ribbon at the desired height around the glass. Make sure it sits tightly, and secure it by removing the second protective film and sticking the other end. For a special effect, you can also layer a second, different width ribbon over it.
Glue the wooden scatter pieces with craft glue to the ribbon or place them decoratively on top of the glass.
